Ritual performances, as happenings, contribute to the making of place. The place-belongingness and sacredness of Chicano Park is manifested in ritual performances, such as the weekly Danza Azteca and annual Dia De Los Muertos celebrations— all of which are crucial to the creation of a sense of belonging. The work of this practice attempts to tell these stories of place as testimonios. The dialogical encounters initiated through the testimonios contribute to the telling of these stories and the making of place. This first video was filmed by Alberto II on Dia de Los Muertos and shared with the community during an exhibition at Liminal Gallery.
